Terms of Use

TEA lets you describe something that happened and lets other people pick a side. Using it means agreeing to what follows. It is short on purpose.

Who can use TEA

You must be 18 or older. TEA is currently a limited beta: features can change, break, or disappear, and we may pause the service without notice.

The one rule that matters

Do not identify anyone but yourself. Write about what happened, not about who it happened to. That means no real names, no employers or colleges paired with an accusation, no phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, addresses, or screenshots of conversations. Our de-identification check will flag most of this before you post and offer a swap — take it. The check is an assistant, not permission: you remain responsible for what you publish.

Also not allowed

• Harassment, threats, or content that targets a person or group.
• Sexual content involving minors, in any form, described in any way.
• Non-consensual intimate content, or the threat of sharing it.
• Content that encourages self-harm or violence.
• Impersonating a real person or organisation.
• Spam, scams, advertising, or automated posting.
• Deliberately fabricated accusations against an identifiable person.

TEA is text only. There is no way to upload a photo of a real person, and that is a deliberate design decision rather than a missing feature.

Reporting and moderation

Anyone can report a post or comment. Once a small number of separate people report the same item, it is hidden from the feed automatically while a human reviews it — hiding is not a verdict, it is a pause. A moderator then restores it or removes it, and that decision is logged. We acknowledge complaints within 36 hours and resolve them within 15 days. Details are on the grievance officer page.

We can hide, remove, or refuse content, and end a session's access, when it breaks these terms. For serious or repeated breaches we will do so without warning.

Verdicts are opinions

A poll result is what a self-selected group of strangers clicked. It is not a finding of fact, a legal judgment, or advice. Do not treat it as any of those, and do not present it to anyone else as if it were. Stories on TEA are unverified accounts from anonymous people; we do not check whether they are true.

Your content

What you write stays yours. By posting, you give us permission to store, display and distribute it within TEA so the product can function. You confirm you have the right to share it and that doing so does not breach anyone's privacy or a confidentiality obligation you are under — an NDA or an employment agreement, for instance.

No warranty, and limits on liability

TEA is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. During the beta in particular, we do not promise availability or that data will not be lost. To the fullest extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of TEA, or for the content other people post.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here removes a right you have under Indian consumer law.

Changes

We will update the date at the top when these terms change, and surface a notice in the app for anything material. Continuing to use TEA after that means you accept the new version.
