We were in that intense talking stage for nearly a year. Honestly, it was deeper than any friendship I've had. We both knew there were real feelings involved. But then she moved to another state for college, communication started tapering off, and things quietly dissolved. Back in February, she blocked me out of nowhere. When her birthday came around in August, I texted her a simple wish, and she unblocked me. We exchanged a few polite pleasantries (mostly initiated by me), followed by another six months of complete radio silence. Out of the blue last night, my phone lights up with a message from her. A part of me wanted to reply instantly, but another part realized we're just setting up the exact same emotional loop. I also recently found out through mutual friends that she converted a top IIM call, and she never even mentioned it to me. My own career and academics have been in a slump lately. Maybe instead of seeking closure from someone who only remembers me when it's convenient, I should just block her for good and focus on getting my own life together.
